The mission of Boathouse Ministry focuses on the transformation of college-age adults (ages 18-25) through the teachings of scripture, worship, discipleship, and communal support. The organization aims to place Jesus at the core of every participant's life.

Operating as a non-denominational para-church gathering on Lake Tyler, Boathouse is independent of any specific local church affiliations. The organization is grounded in its belief that the Bible represents the true written Word of God, aspiring to act as witnesses in Tyler, Smith County, throughout Texas, and beyond, in accordance with Acts 1:8.

Founded in 2015 by two passionate individuals who sought to combine their love for the lake with their faith, Boathouse emerged from a recognition of the need for a welcoming space for college students to gather in worship during the summer months when other local ministries paused their activities. Over the years, this initiative has successfully united individuals from diverse backgrounds—ranging from lifelong believers to those who have never previously attended a church service.

Thanks to divine guidance and support, Boathouse has evolved into a year-round non-profit entity committed to its original vision of fostering discipleship among college students in collaboration with local church bodies. Each week presents an opportunity to witness God’s work among those who love Him and are called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28).
